Our year in celebration

Thai Pongal Thiruvizhaa

Four-day Tamil harvest festival honouring nature and the Sun God, celebrated locally on the nearest weekend with cultural performances, kolam competitions, folk dances and a community feast.

Day 1 Bhogi — spiritual cleansing and renewal. Day 2 Thai Pongal — sweet Sakkarai Pongal cooked in clay pots and allowed to boil over for prosperity. Day 3 Mattu Pongal — honouring cattle and farm animals. Day 4 Kaanum Pongal — family reunions, outings and gifts.

International Women’s Day Celebration

We proudly join the community walk to celebrate women’s achievements, followed by a Saturday evening of cultural programmes focused on women’s empowerment and leadership.

Harmony Day & Tamil New Year (Chithirai Puthandu)

A celebration of unity, cultural pride and community connection marking Chithirai Puthandu alongside Harmony Day, including Harmony Soiree and multicultural activities across the NT.
